Dockers Finish Season In Style

Soham Town Rangers 1 Tilbury 4 (Att 162)

Tilbury finished the 2015/16 season, with a fine victory over Soham Town Rangers on a bright afternoon in Cambridgeshire.

Tilbury went in to the game with an unchanged line up and a succession of early corner saw the combination of Kurt Smith corners and Joe Nightingill's head going close. The home side did have a good chance when Ross Paterson hit across the goal.
Tilbury took the lead when yet another corner from Kurt Smith, eventually saw defender Joe Nightingill head towards goal and past Dion-Curtis Henry for the opener.
The home side finished the half well with both Paterson and Alex Martin having efforts cleared off the line in the same attack. George Darling missed the best chance of the half just before the whistle when he hit over from 6 yards.
The introduction of Francis Babalola at the break saw Tilbury got down the left a number of times. Tilbury did break down Soham on 70 when a flick on header by Tony Martin saw Babalola split the defence and round the keeper to hit into an empty net.

Just 6 minutes later, it was 3-0 when Conor Mead crossed for Tony Martin to hit first time low into the net for his 24th goal of the season. Soham kept coming at Tilbury who defended well. With 4 minutes remaining Kurt Smith crossed from the left and from the edge of the area, Neil Richmond thumped home to make it 4-0.
With the final kick of the game, a cross from the right found substitute Salim Relizani to hit home.

The result sees Tilbury move up 1 place to finish 11th and finish the season, where they spent a large time in and around the play off places.
Manager Gary Henty commented after the game "Pleased to finish off the season with a good win. It has been a long season playing 59 matches, with 4 of the squad making over 50 appearances, so well done to them"

Tilbury: Bogard, C Mead, J Cook, D Smith, Nightingill (Jaggs 36), Game, Aiken (Babalola 46), Carlile, Richmond, Martin (Stanley 76), K Smith
