Despite dominating for long periods, Tilbury let a 2 goal lead slip, to concede twice in injury time to draw in Cambridgeshire.

Joe Keith gave a debut to keeper Ashlee Jones.

It was a quiet opening from both sides, with home captain Lee Chaffey having a great chance on 21 when he hit over with the goal at his mercy.

Tilbury only started to play just before the break and did go in front on half time. Before the break substitute Adam Vyse saw is bullet free kick well saved by Pope, before Lewis Smith hitting towards goal before Endacott cleared off the line. In injury time in the first half a ball was sent into the box that saw Abdul Salami hit the ball, that looked like it hit a hand, but Adam Vyse was on hand to hit home.

Straight after the break, Tilbury went 2 up, when Adam Vyse chased down a lost ball, he pulled the ball back to Lewis Smith who curled home past Pope.

The game was then littered with fouls, with the home side picking up numerous yellow cards. On 59 Jon Kaye received his second yellow card. Tilbury pushed forward, but without an end product. With 90 minutes up on the clock, Soham's discipline got worse when Lewis Endacott received his second yellow, with Soham now down to 9 men. In the 4th minute of injury time, Ross Gleed was adjudged to have given a penalty away and after consulting with his assistant, the referee pointed to the spot. Sam Mulready smashed home.

Soham never let up and in a dramatic finish, a ball was played in from the left and a Soham player clearly handled the ball, pushing the ball towards the penalty spot where Sam Mulready was on hand to hit passed Jones. The whistle went soon after to the delight of the home side.

Tilbury will be disappointed to let the two goal lead slip, but get off the mark in the league with a point.

It will be a game to forget for some of the decisions made that spoilt the game.

Tilbury travel to Hertford Town next Saturday in the qualifying round of the FA Cup.
