Wroxham 3 Tilbury 2 (Att 104)

A late Nick Davey header saw Tilbury's dismal run continue on a cold evening in Norfolk.
Tilbury went in to the game with 9 first team players unavailable, which gave a chance to youngsters Regan Mead and Charlie Spalding, both getting valuable playing time.
Wroxham started the better of the two sides in an opening that neither team could get a grip of. The first real effort of the game fell to the home side with 26 minutes on the clock, when David Hinton was fouled in the box by Jimmy Cook and and a penalty was awarded. Jack Garrod placed the ball into the top corner. Regan Mead had a low effort just wide on 30, before the home side capitalised on two mistakes by the Dockers Midfield and defence that saw Tom Cullumbine play the ball across to Nick Davey who smashed the ball past Clarke Bogard for a fine goal.
After half time, Tilbury stated to play the ball around well and had the better of the play. Just 4 minutes in, Jack Carlile was upended on the edge of the box and the same player smashed home the free kick in to the top corner. Davey went close on 55 when out of nothing found the ball at his feet and he unleashed an effort that ht the cross bar. Greg Cundle was having a good period of play as on the hour he ran into the box, but his effort was well blocked. A minute later he again picked the ball up and went on a mazey run that saw him cut in and strike home for the goal of the game. Tom Cullumbine was then denied twice by Clarke Bogard after he twice beat the offside trap, but was denied on both occasions. With 12 minutes to go Lewis Jaggs rifled an effort just over as Tilbury looked for a winner. It was the home side that did get the winner with 2 minutes remaining. Some good play down the right hand side saw a cross finding the head of Nick Davey who was left unmarked to score. In the final seconds a Conor Mead free-kick saw the ball in a goalmouth scramble, but eventually cleared.

After the game, Manager Gary Henty commented "We again got ourselves back in a game, only to switch off and it has cost us dearly. We go again on Saturday"

The result leaves Tilbury in 8th place. The Dockers return to action again on Saturday when they are on the road to Heybridge Swifts.

Tilbury: Bogard, C Mead, Webb, Pooley, Nightingill, Jaggs, R Mead (D Smith 88), Carlile, Richmond (Spalding 22), Cundle, J Cook.

Unused subs: Henty, Martin and Glozier
