Cheshunt 0 Tilbury 0 (Att 135)

Cheshunt and Tilbury shared a goalless draw on Tuesday night, with Tilbury the happier of the sides. endured a frustrating Tuesday night as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Tilbury at Theobalds Road.

The Ambers and the Dockers had plenty of chances in both halves. Tilbury did defend resolutely, but the Ambers will probably feel it was two points dropped.

The first chance fell to the hosts in the 11th minute when defender Joe Clemo played a lovely ball over the top to Jason Hallett who shot, defender Eli Beniot made a great recovering challenge. On 16 there was some controversy as Billy Jones raced through on to another good ball, but the home crowd felt the winger was tripped by Beniot, but nothing was given by referee, who felt he fell to the floor. On 32 Jones missed the best chance of the half. After good build-up play on the right, Hallett let the ball roll across him and it came to the winger. However, he leant back on his shot and skied it over the bar.

Tilbury went down the right 4 minutes later, when Emiel Aiken fired his first-time effort over the top. Just before the break, Tony Martin from 25 yards out chipped the keeper, who managed to tip over. This was the last chance of the half.

Tilbury started the second half well and in the first ten minutes put the hosts under some pressure. Martin fired an effort just wide from the edge of the box after good work from Aromolaran. Aromolaran the hit at the keeper after a good move as Tilbury dominated the game.

On 70 Hallett forced Lee Butcher into action after Kizzi won the ball in midfield and it broke to the striker, he fired an effort that the Dockers keeper pushed behind. From the resulting corner, the ball dropped to Hope, but somehow he managed to poke his effort over the top of the bar.

The home side tried everything to get the winning goal, but it was the visitors who almost nicked it at the death. With just two minutes to go a corner fell to Beniot, but he fired just over from close range.

The result sees Tilbury remain 11th and welcome Maldon & Tiptree on Saturday.

Tilbury: Butcher, C Mead, Conway, Peddie, Benoit, Singh, Aromolaran, Carlile, Odedoyin, Martin, Aiken.

Unused subs: Willis, Saidy, Charles, James, D Smith.
