Tilbury 5 Phoenix Sports 3 (Att 64)A second half fight back by Phoenix Sports was not enough to gain the points in a lively second half in a game that was not as exciting as the scoreline showed. The visitors started brightly with George King hitting his shot at Bogard. Tilbury's best early effort fell to Kurt Smith who's effort was well blocked from a Conor Mead cross. Tilbury took the lead on 27 when Emiel Aiken picked up on a mistake in the defence to score. Within 5 minutes Ricky Freeman equalised with a fine header into the roof of the net. Before the break Smith again and Conor Mead both had efforts close, with King having a shot that went over for Phoenix. The Dockers started the second half well with Neil Richmond slotting home after a good ball from Kurt Smith. On the hour the visitors were reduced to 10 men when Mingle was dismissed for an off the ball incident. The Dockers took advantage and on 68 minutes Richmond returned the favour heading down for Kurt Smith to smash home. On 71 Jimmy Cook made a last ditch goal-line clearance from Freeman, before Kurt Smith was again back in the action when he crossed to substitute Harry Cook who swivelled and volleyed into the net for a fine goal.Phoenix reduced the arrears when Tenola beat the offside trap to score. Phoenix then scored immediately when a Hamill free-kick came off Tilbury defender Jake Pooley to make a nervy 4-3. With 5 minutes to go Clarke Bogard made a great save from Christie Pattison who looked certain to equalise. Tilbury continue to push and Smith played in Cook who headed over. In the final minute, the same partnership were rewarded when Harry Cook slotted coolly home to confirm the points. After the game Manager Gary Henty commented "The first half was not good enough We did well for a period of time in the second half before losing our way. I am pleased to get the three points though"TeamBogard, Mead, J Cook (Glozier 84), D Smith, Pooley, Game, Babalola, Carlile, Aiken (Martin 74), Richmond (H Cook 69), K SmithUnused Subs: Webb and Collins
