Tilbury 2 AFC Hornchurch 2 (Att 154)

Tilbury and second place side AFC Hornchurch had to settle for a share of the spoils as they drew 2-2 in an entertaining match.

Tilbury gave a debut to midfielder Kris Newby and he was effective from the off. Tilbury had the first effort on 9 when Adam Vyse was played in, but over ran the ball at the vital time.
On 15 the Dockers took the lead when Abdul Salami stabbed his shot home after a header from captain Adam Vyse.
The Urchins were level on 28 when Theo Fairweather-Johnson found the net after a super ball from Matthias Fanimo.
Both sides struggled to generate anything up to the break, with the ball being played high and long.
Hornchurch got off to a strong start in the second-half and within  two minutes, Purcell smashed a volley that was deflected over the bar for a corner after Tobi Joseph headed it on.
Three minutes later captain Elliot Styles put his side in front as he finished from close range after being picked out by a cross from Purcell.
Tilbury were desperately looking to claw their way back into the match and started piling the pressure on with the ball eventually falling to Emiel Aiken who was denied by Sam Mott from close range in the 64th minute.
Nine minutes later striker Purcell stepped up to take a free-kick on the edge of the box but fired his shot straight into the arms of keeper Clarke Bogard.
The hosts piled on the pressure and were rewarded in the 82nd minute when Vyse sprinted down the left after a ball from substitute Kurt Smith and with a good advantage played, he shot home to level the score.
Joe Keith’s kept pushing in hope of nicking the three points and dominated the dying stages - despite Purcell almost finding his way through on goal in added time, but well blocked by Salami who was brave.
The result sees Tilbury remain in 18th spot. On Tuesday, Tilbury travel round the M25 to Waltham Abbey.

After the game Manager Joe Keith commented. "Really proud of the lads. We have drawn with a team who are likely winners of Bostik North".

Team: Bogard, Odelusi, Dance, Aiken (Little 80), Salami, Turpin (Mead 53), Newby, Carlile, Vyse, Jaggs (Smith 80), McWee
