TILBURY conceded two late goals to come unstuck in a topsy-turvy encounter against Cray Wanderers. The Dockers were trailing at half-time, before they turned the game around to lead with 10 minutes remaining. But two goals in the final nine minutes saw the result go against them.Gary Henty’s side had beaten Wroxham on the opening day and started well in Kent, despite going behind to Andre McCollin’s fine strike midway through the first period.Matt Game and Harry Cook came close before the break but it remained 1-0.But with an hour on the clock, Tilbury drew level and Danny Smith was the man on the mark, winning a penalty after a jinking run and blasting home the penalty.Share article Neil Richmond then put the visitors ahead. Having come off the bench, the striker crashed home from 20 yards with aplomb. But Grant Basey’s stunning 25-yeard free-kick drew parity with 10 minutes to go, and Jack Lodge compounded their misery when he found the net, with Tilbury keeper Clarke Bogard unable to keep the ball out.
