Barkingside 0 Tilbury 2 (Att 81)Tilbury achieved their second away victory of the season with Two first half goals from Tony Martin given the Dockers the points at Cricklefields against a lacklustre Barkingside.Tilbury made just one change to their line-up after Saturday's win over Romford, with Francis Babalola returning for his first start for 2 month in place of Tom Wood. In a game Tilbury dominated, it took just 3 minutes to take the lead when a Matt Game cross from the right, left Tony Martin with a simple finish. just 4 minutes later, Martin should again been on the score sheet when his half volley was superbly pushed over by Side keeper Pitman and he had to pull of another great save to keep out another Martin’s downward header. The hosts were all over the place and were lucky not to be 3 or 4 goals down inside the first 15 minutes. Barkingside's Joe Bricknell hit his free kick just wide. The visitors again had a good chance on the half hour when Captain Matt Game blazed over from close range. Side went close again when a long range strike from Akpele was well saved by Giddens and then Gulfer looked like he would score, but his shot was wide of Tilbury’s goal. Tilbury increased the lead on 36 when a long Neil Richmond ball found Tony Martin just outside the penalty area and with the advancing Pitman, lobbed into an empty net to net his brace. Some poor defending from the hosts wasn’t punished thanks to a terrible miss from the Dockers and then another save by Pitman kept out a low effort. On half time Game had the ball in the net, but was ruled offside. Tilbury started the second period well and Babalola had his header from 10 yards, quite brilliantly saved by the excellent Pitman to deny Tilbury increasing their lead. On 55 Babalola had 2 bites at goal and again on both occasions Pitman denied him. The resulting corner saw Richmond volley wide of the goal. The home side went close when former Dockers striker Lee Weemes was put through in the box and he managed to draw keeper Giddens out, but dragged his shot wide. Late in the game Jack Carlile hit from 20 yards but Pitman saved well. The result sees Tilbury keep up their good recent record and move up to 12th.After the game a pleased Tilbury Coach George Young said "We ask the players to work hard and be honest with each other. The result was reward for this. It was a tough game on a difficult suffice, but we worked well as a team. Another clean sheet is reward for the hard-work in training and we hope this run can continue.Tilbury look to make it 9 points out of 9 on Saturday when they welcome Chatham Town to Chadfields 3.00pm kick off.Team:- Giddens, Webb, J Cook, Nightingill, Smith, Game, Babalola, Carlile, Richmond (J West 83), Martin (Flack 77) and Aiken (Daniel 71)Subs not used: Wood and Johnson
