Tilbury 1 Heybridge Swifts 1 (Att 152)
Tilbury started the final month of the season with a well deserved draw with confirmed play off contenders Heybridge Swifts on a chilly afternoon at Chadfields.
Manager Marc Harrison made a single change with Mitchell Gilbey returning to the side in place of Ryan Ramsey.
Both sides started fast and furious, with Matt Price causing problems for the visitors. On 28 a well struck free kick from captain Kris Newby nearly went close to the line as Chris Haigh make a good save, but spilt the ball. Some good dominance from Tilbury saw George Sykes header just wide, before Haigh making a brilliant save from a Oli Spooner thunderbolt. Tilbury then had six corners in the space of 2 minutes, but came to nothing. On the half hour Haigh saved well from Lewis Smith. Just after the break Luke Wilson saw his header saved by Rhys Madden. Tilbury again had a number of corners, but this time, made it pay. On 75 a Lewis Smith corner was not cleared and the ball fell to Kris Newby on the edge of the area who fired through a number of bodies in to the net. Heybrdge equalised within a minute when substitute Kreshnic Krasniqi fired from the edge of the area past Madden.
Chances were then at premium with Evans Kouassi going close for the visitors from 20 yards, late on.
Both sides seemed happy to share the points. Tilbury remain10th in the league.
Tilbury are back in action next Saturday when the Dockers welcome another play off side Coggeshall Town for the penultimate home match. 3.00pm kick off.
