Tilbury gave higher opposition St Neots a second half scare as the sides shared the goals and replay on Tuesday night.
Tilbury made one change from Tuesday's defeat to Thurrock, with Jimmy Cook replaced Joe Nightingill.
The visitors started strongly with Tom Meechan going close twice early on as he caused a threat. St Neots took the lead just past the half hour mark when Ryan Hawkins ran down the left to find Connor Hall who finished off a good team move. The second half was a different story as Tilbury dominated for long periods and deservedly got back in the game on 53 when Conor Mead crossed from the right and found Neil Richmond who saw his volley fly into the net. home. Seconds later Meechan rounded keeper Bogard and Jake Pooley made a great goal-line clearance. Bogard saved again from the dangerous Meechan a few minutes later.
Tilbury finished well, but were dealt a blow in the last minute when Danny Smith was sent off. Three late successive corners for the visitors were well defended by the Dockers. The sides do it all again on Tuesday night.
After the game Assistant manager Danny Smith commented "Over the last 2 weeks, we have been competitive and today we more than deserved a replay. We matched them over the tie and caused them problems, in particularly second half"
Team
Bogard, Mead, J Cook, D Smith, Pooley, Game, Babalola (Edmunds 82), Carlile, Aiken, Richmond (Webb 90), K Smith
Unused Subs: Awokoya, Nightingill and Duarte
