Tilbury 2 Cheshunt 1 (Attendance 72)

Tilbury returned to winning ways on Easter Monday to inflict Cheshunt's first defeat in 6 and giving Tilbury a 2nd win in the last 13 matches.

The game was also marred by an 18 minute delay due to serious injury to Cordi Niles who had to be hospitalised.

On a bright sunny afternoon at Chadfields for the last time this season, Cheshunt had the first chance of the afternoon when Da Silva saw his effort well blocked by Marrable. Tilbury had some good early corners before Babalola and Waters both seeing there efforts well tipped wide by visiting keeper Viner. On 25 Folarin was bundled over in the box but the referee waved away any protests before seconds later Ryan Blackman picked up the ball just inside the Cheshunt half and beat 2 players before striking home for a fine individual goal. On 37 Niles hit a volley that was brilliantly saved by Viner. Cordi Niles was to see no further action, as on half time he fell to the ground unchallenged and was in some considerable pain. With Niles still on the pitch awaiting an ambulance, the second half had to be delayed by 18 minutes before he was taken to hospital with a bad injury to his knee. Cheshunt settled well after the break and got a deserved equaliser when Omer Riza blasted into the roof of the net from 20 yards giving Marrable no chance. On the hour Jack West played in Folarin who saw his side footed effort cleared off the line. 5 minutes later Ted Llewellyn saw his effort well saved by Marrable. On 74 Tilbury were awarded a penalty when Christou was brought down in the box. The referee pointed to the spot and Jack West coolly slotted home. In the final minutes Babalola and Jack West were both denied by good saves.

The result leaves the Dockers in 18th place and travel down the A13 on Saturday for the last game of the season at Thurrock.
