Grays Athletic 3 Tilbury 1 (Att 103)
Tilbury lost out to local rivals Grays, who saw a smooth passage to the next round of the Ryman league cup with a 3-1 victory at a cold and heavy Millfield pitch on Wednesday night.
The home side dominated for long periods and started strongly with Jamie Guy hitting wide inside 10 minutes. Seconds later Nightingill had to be at his best to block a goal bound shot. Grays took the lead on 16 when slow build up play saw the ball eventually fall to Ladapo who slotted home. On 22 a Guy effort was a whisker away, before a minute later Tilbury had there first effort when Wood crossed for Aiken who hit just over the top. Just before the break Grays had a good chance to increase the lead when Sanderson struck the bar. Grays increased the lead on 53 when a good through ball came to the feet of Jamie Guy who lobbed Millard from the edge of the area into the roof of the net. Just past the hour Tilbury gave themselves a life line when a good run down the left by Flack saw his cross met by Tom Wood who headed home. Both sides started to create clear cut chances, with Ricky Millard called onto action on 70 to make an outstanding save from Sanderson. Grays confirmed there passage to the next round on 82 when substitute Little put the ball through to Gb-Dumaka to had the easy chance to score. From the kick off Jack West struck the bar from 6 yards.
In the final minute an off the ball incident saw Grays Jey Silva and Tilbury's Tom Wood sent off for violent conduct which was a sour end to a competitive game. The final kick of the game fell to Guy who saw his shot well save by Millard.

Re: Grays Pathetic league cup
The "DOCKERS" did not disgrace them selves against Thurrocks premier community club, don't know how they got that title, oh I know they gave it to themselves.
Just like our Director of football, soon to be Lord mayor of Tilbury. Aveley do need a new ground sooner rather than later the place is a shit hole, i.e. only one draught beer on offer no locks on the one toilet door in the club house, and the dark walk from the club house to the turnstiles. They did have most of the play, and apart from one of there goals we defended well. We also had a few good chances one of them Jack West should have scored rather than hit the bar. I am 100% sure Gary will turn our fortunes around he just needs a bit more time. Nice to see at least 25 "DOCKERS" over there, and it became a proper local derby when a couple of fights broke out amongst the players, resulting in a player from each side receiving a red card.
