Yes Mickey Ernie Stock was a legend.
I remember way back in 1966 I was asked by the then Chairman George Godfrey to go to the ground ,which was waterlogged ,to help Ernie get the pitch ready for a game to be played a couple of days later.
3 of us - then aged 10 - turned up in wellies etc and reported to Ernie and he told us to "f*** off out of my ground".
He certainly was a legend.
Must say thepitch is looking gr8. Well done to all those who helped getting the pitch as good as it looks.

its looks good but stocky was the king of st chads pitches
who remembers Ernie stock even the players where scared to go on the pitch
