Great Wakering 2 Tilbury 0 (Att 121)
Tilbury suffered successive defeats conceding a goal in each half to see a slow start to the season continue. The Dockers will be disappointed going into the break behind after creating numerous chances. On 11 defender Abdus Salami headed over from a Eljay Worrell free kick before Ola Ogunwamide saw his 25 yard rasping effort well saved by Mason. On 29 Ogunwamide had a great chance when he went on a mazey run, seeing his effort strike the inside of the post and away to safety.
On 33 a defensive mistake saw the home side score, when Jack Stevenson nipped in to fire home. Both Ogunwamide and Marlon Agyakwa linked up well before the break, seeing Tilbury go close.
Straight after the break, Great Wakering had a succession of corners, but Tilbury kept out any danger. well.
Goalmouth action was at a premium as Tilbury tried to get back into the game. It took until the 88th minute for the game to be confirmed to the home side, when a break was finished off well by Jake Gordon. There was still time for Billy Johnson to strike the post from another break away.
Tilbury are back in action on Saturday, when the FA Cup will be the focus, when Stanway Rovers visit Chadfields. 3.00pm.
