Barkingside 0 Tilbury 3 (Att 88)

Tilbury came away from Cricklefields with the points to keep in and around the play off places. Following a good performance midweek, midfielder Ross Elsom kept his place in the side at the expense of Tony Martin.

In a quiet opening Neil Richmond saw a weak shot easily saved and a good Kurt Smith cross also saw Richmond go close but denied by the offside flag.
Tilbury took the lead on 16 minutes when a Elsom free kick found Kurt Smith who hit home at the second attempt. Before the break Richmond was in the thick of the action going close. Barkingside's first real effort of the game fell on 62 when Andy Greenslade saw his long range effort go over. On 66 minutes Tony Martin came off the bench for his 50th appearance for the club and took just 4 minutes to get his name on the score sheet, when he picked up the ball and from the edge of the area, lobbed Behcet int an empty net. Tilbury remained in control, but Handan saw his effort well saved by Bogard for the home side. It as another substitute that got on the goal list with 9 minutes remaining when Tony Martin played the ball through to the onrushing Emiel Aiken who headed down and shot low into the net for a fine goal.
The last action of the game saw Barkingside substitute Alfie Wren hit wide.

The result leaves Tilbury in 7th place with games in hand.

After the game Manager Gary Henty commented “I am pleased with the application of the lads today. Cricklefields is always a tough place to come and Barkingside worked hard, but we persisted well and good what we deserved"
