Tilbury 0 Cray Wanderers 0 (Att 70)

A strong defensive performance saw the Dockers pick up a well deserved point against the leader's Cray Wanderers on Tuesday night, in a game Tilbury could have stole in the final minutes. Tilbury made two changes from there last outing with Bradley Webb and Jimmy Cook replacing the unavailable Conor Mead and Francis Babalola. The game also saw the return of Harry Cook and Kurt Smith to the squad.

As the scoreline would suggest defences were very much on top during the game. Cray started the game well and came close to scoring in the first few seconds when James Duckworth headed over. Cray suffered a blow on 6 minutes when Lea Dawson suffered what looked to be a bad ankle injury.

Tilbury's best chance before the break came from Tony Martin who shot wide from the edge of the area. Cray had a lot of the ball following this and almost took the lead after a fine piece of play Bremner who played in Osifuwa who hit wide.

As the half wore on Tilbury were slightly in control, but only threatened the Cray goal from shots outside the area.
Cray came close before the break when a scramble in the box saw Sodje head at Bogard.
The second half went similar to the first with shots from outside the box giving the keepers little to do. On the hour captain Matt Game had a great effort from 25 yards just over the top and Dent for the visitors hitting just wide from outside the box. Tilbury were looking the most threatening in the final period with Harry Cook getting himself in a good position just outside the 6 yard box, but could not hit the target. The last ten minutes was played in heavy rain and the match lost its shape, with no real efforts created.
Both sides who have been in good form, seemed to be happy with a point.
After the game Assistant Manager Danny Smith commented “A fair result on the night. Pleased with the effort from the boys and we could have taken all 3 points in the end. We have competed with Cray in both games this season and we are pleased with a well deserved clean sheet"
The result sees the Dockers drop one place to 8th and now the focus is the FA Trophy tie this Saturday at home to Tooting and Mitcham.
