Tilbury 0 Thurrock 1 (Att 96)Tilbury met local rivals Thurrock for the second time in two weeks and it was Thurrock who again took the points in a close fought game.Thurrock had a chance inside the first few minutes when Joe Christou saw his effort blocked well by Clarke Bogard. Stimson then went close for the visitors when he hit just wide from a cross on 19. Tilbury were indebted to Kurt Smith who cleared off the line from a Danny Francis lob. Thurrock had most of the ball, but it was Tilbury who nearly took the lead on half time when Conor Mead crossed and Thurrock keeper Connor Wheatley made good tip over, as the ball was dipping into the goal.Tilbury had the first chance of the second half, but it was Thurrock who looked most likely to score. Bogard made a good save from the dangerous Spence on 51. The breakthrough came on the hour mark when substitute Leslie Thompson beat the offside trap to swing home.Tilbury did push for an equaliser and it was some resolute defending from Thurrock denied them. On 70 Babalola's cross evaded everyone in the box and needed a little tap to score. Tilbury's best effort of the second period fell to Kurt Smith who hit his effort right footed and as it was looking to go in the corner, Connor Wheatley made a magnificent save. The results sees Tilbury drop to 15th place.
