A good second half performance by the Dockers sees them come from behind to win at Maldon and Tiptree.

Tilbury returned to winning ways with 2 second half strikes to see off Maldon and Tiptree on Saturday in a game of 2 halves. Tilbury made 3 changes from Tuesday's defeat with Nightingill, Game and Flack returning to the side.

Both teams started determined to give little away and the quiet opening period only saw Ryan Flack cross for Aiken to hit just over. Maldon pressured the Tilbury defence, but were snuffed out by some good defending. The pressure paid off just after the half hour when Adewunni cut inside unchallenged to fire from the edge of the area passed the unsighted Giddens. On half time both sides had good opportunities when Alex Anderson fired just over the top before a Flack free kick hot Aiken and looped over the top.

After the break Tilbury raised their tempo and were the stronger of the sides. Tilbury's intent was made clear as on 51 Neil Richmond received and turned well in the penalty area to get a shot away that needed an excellent save from Behcet to prevent an early equaliser, before Flack fired in a decent effort that just cleared the angle of bar and post. Tilbury equalised on 54 when the dangerous Ryan Flack crossed from the right found Aiken in space and turned scooped his effort into the corner of the net. Tilbury continued to pressure and were rewarded on 65 when Tony Martin was found in space and and played a good ball up to Richmond who was unmarked and was able to expertly lobbed Behcet from just inside the area and into the net. As the game went into the final quarter Maldon had some pressure with substitute Brad Hunter's header having an effort disallowed for pushing. In the final minute Nzengo had a good shout for the awarding of a penalty when he was sent sprawling in the box, but the referee deemed that Cook got his foot to the ball. The afternoon finished the happier of the sides.

The result sees Tilbury remain in 12th place.

After the game Tilbury Manager Gary Henty commented "I was disappointed with our first half performance, but after a chat at half time, we sorted things out and I was delighted with the second period. The boys carried out the instructions given and were rewarded"

Tilbury are back in action next Saturday when they welcome AFC Sudbury to Chadfields 3.00pm kick off.

Team: Giddens, Webb, Daniel (J Cook 72), Nightingill (Pooley 35), Smith, Game, Flack, Wood, Richmond, Martin and Aiken
