Tilbury 2 Mildenhall Town  0
Att 103.

Tilbury's recent good run saw goals either side of half
time to see the Dockers move up the league and win there first Saturday game of the season and also finish off a good week, picking up 7 points out of 9 with 3 clean sheets.

Dockers manager Marc Harrison made a single change from Tuesday's win, Oli Spooner replaced Joe Burgess.

Both sides had early chances, Kris Newby for the home side, before Evans Kouassi hit just over Rhys Madden's cross-bar. It was Tilbury who took the lead on 27 when Lewis Smith was brought down in the box after he beat 2 men. The referee did not hesitate to point to the spot, Smith stepped up to score.

Just before the half time whistle blew, Mildenhall should have got themselves level when the dangerous Tom Debenham some how headed over the top from 5 yards after a corner caused problems.

Early in the second half Mitchell Gilbey got down the right before crossing to George Sykes who dragged back in a tight space and smashed home past the helpless Horton.

The tempo of the game heightened on 66 when Mitchell Gilbey was scythed down when he was through on goal, but the referee did not take the necessary action and players jostled, as the referee was pushed and a coming together of players. The referee took little action with the incident. A few minutes later, Tilbury were down to 10 men when Darren Phillips received his second yellow for a foul.

Tilbury made a number of substitutions in a short space of time and saw the game out, making it a good first week for the management team.

Tilbury moved up 3 places to 15th and closed the gap with sides above them. The Dockers are back in action on Saturday, when they travel to Great Wakering Rovers 3pm kick off.
