Brentwood Town 2 Tilbury 2 (Att 233)

Tilbury threw away a 2 goal lead to draw 2-2 at The Arena on Saturday, with Brentwood's goals in the final 3 minutes.

Manager Marc Harrison for the third successive game, went into the match with an unchanged line up.

Tilbury dominated for long periods in the first half, but Brentwood were indebted to keeper Rob Budd who kept his side in the game. The first effort of the game fell to Kojo Apenteng who struck the post after 2 minutes, before Tilbury's Lewis Smith saw his bullet effort saved by Budd. Captain Kris Newby then saw Budd deny him twice on 24th and 29th minute.

On 31 George Sykes got a shot on target, but Budd saved, before he tipped a Mitchell Gilbey effort wide.

Brentwood's Ernest Okoh then struck the post as both teams attacked.

Before the break, Tilbury eventually got the ball in the net. Lewis Smith switched play to George Sykes who got to the byline before crossing for Oli Spooner to slot home. Seconds later Tilburyshould have been 2 in front when Mitchell Gilbey crossed for George Sykes who did the hard work only to see his effort on goal with an empty net, strike the post.

Tilbury continued after the break and Lewis Smith weaved in and out, before Budd again saved. On 62 Tilbury increased the lead when Oli Spooner turned provider by bursting into the box before playing in Mitchell Gilbey to smash home.

The home side came into the game and looked more dangerous. With 3 minutes to go substitute Harry Doyle picked the ball up just inside the Tilbury half and unleashed a great effort from 30 yards that beat Rhys Madden and flew into the net. Brentwood kept coming at Tilbury and were rewarded in injury time when defender Quba Gordon came up from the back and with the ball not cleared, stabbed home to the delight of the home side. Tilbury despiteconceding late, had one last push, but Lewis Smith was denied by some strong defending.

The result leaves Tilbury in 11th place and have only lost once in eight matches. Tilbury welcome basement side Dereham Town on Saturday. 3.00pm kick off.
