Tilbury 1 Waltham Abbey 2 (Att 77)

Tilbury produced a very under par performance to go down to out of form Waltham Abbey on an nice April afternoon.

Tilbury made just a single change from the previous game, with Harry Norman replacing Dwade James.

Both sides started slowly and it took until 17 minutes for the first chance on goal, that fell to Nathan Koranteng who picked up on a mistake to fire from over 20 yards, past Clarke Bogard. The only other chance of a poor first half fell to Shad Ngandu who hit wide from distance.

Tilbury's first chance of the game fell to captain Jack Carlile who smashed his shot at the keeper.

The second half was played in similar manner to the first, with passing football a rare sight. With 6 minutes remaining Darelle Russell picked up on another defensive mix up to pounce to win the game for the visitors.

In the final minute, centre half Hussain Jaffa was brought down in the box and Jack Carlile scored to keep up his record of 4 goals in his last 4 outings.

The result sees Tilbury remain 19th. Tilbury welcome Haringey Borough on Tuesday night.
