Bury Town 6 Tilbury 1 Att 260

Tilbury suffered a heavy defeat in Suffolk, by going down to Bury Town 6-1. The Dockers returned to the same venue where they won 2-1 just 3 weeks ago, but Bury were much stronger. Tilbury made one change from last weeks cup match with Danny Norton replacing Toch Singh.

It was a game that Bury dominated for long periods. Bury were awarded a penalty as early as the 6th minutes after Ollie Hughes was bundled over in the box by Joe Turpin. Leon Ottley-Gooch stepped up but put his spot kick high over the top. A minute later Adam Mills was fortunate to receive just a yellow card when he went in very late on Clarke Bogard. The home side who were in total charge, took the lead on 19 minutes, after some build up play from Darren Mills saw a chance and put a curling strike past Bogard. Two minutes later Bury were two up with Ottley-Gooch firing a thumping shot after Mills effort was saved. Adam Vyse saw his effort on 26 brilliantly tipped onto the bar by Tibbles. On 27 minutes another corner saw Ollie Hughes on his own to head home at the far post. Clarke Bogard would be needed again on 39 minutes, Darcy Death with a long throw and Ottley-Gooch powering in a header and Bogard made a superb save. Tilbury pulled a goal back on 41 when George Pullen played the ball to Toby Aromolaran who cut inside to fire home, despite a slight deflection. Just before the break Tilbury lost the ball in the middle of the pitch and Camel Ramadan hit a great strike from 30 yards which flew in to the top corner to give Bury back their 3-goal cushion at the break. Before the break Bogard made a double save deny Mills and Hughes.

It was more of the same in the second half and Bury wasted no time in going 5 up on 48 minutes with another cross from Ollie Hughes found Ramadan to slot home.

On 70 Tilbury's afternoon got worse when keeper Clarke Bogard saw red for violent conduct and another penalty awarded. Joe Turpin took the shirt and saw Cemal Ramadan step up and pull his shot wide of the post, to miss the second penalty of the afternoon. Ramadan did get to complete his hat-trick on 74 minutes with yet another great charge from Hughes and another good ball in for Ramadan to curl his strike in to the top of the net. The home side continued to lay siege on Tilbury's defence. A rapid attack from Bury on 85 minutes saw Darren Mill hit the back of the net again only to be ruled offside. Makeshift keeper Joe Turpin pulled off a good save in injury time after Joe White crossed in to the box and was heading in, but Turpin made the punch away.

Tilbury are back in action quickly, as they make the short trip to Aveley on Monday night.
