Tilbury 0  Phoenix Sports 2 (Att 88)

Phoenix Sports kept up there slim chance of play offs with a deserved 2-0 victory at Tilbury leaving them on the heels of the chasing pack.

Tilbury welcomed back Emiel Aiken for his first time this year. With both sides struggling with the wind early on, Tilbury's only shot on target all afternoon came on 7 when Ryan Melaugh shot his free kick straight at Steve Phillips. The visitors struck on 12 minutes when a mistake in the home defence, saw Theo Fairweather-Johnson run on, to fire low into the net.

With Phoenix starting to take control, made it 2-0 on 24 when a long throw on 24 saw defender Jack Barry, rise unchallenged to head home. Before the break Christie Pattison had a good chance to increase the lead, but denied by Clarke Bogard.

The second half was a quiet affair, with Tilbury's Emiel Aiken getting some good balls in the box and Phoenix's Michael Power having some good efforts to put the game out of sight. With the final kick, Phoenix substitute Sesay, hit wide in front of an open goal.

After the game manager Gary Henty commented "I thought we started the game really well but conceded two sloppy goals. We need to cut out individual errors which are costing us"

Tilbury sit in 14th place in the league with 6 games to go.

The Dockers are away to Witham Town next Saturday.
