Aveley 2 Tilbury 1 (Att 92)

Tilbury's disastrous February finished with another defeat on a cold and windy afternoon on there final ever visit to Millfield.

Tilbury went into the game on the back of 4 successive defeats and started well and took the lead inside 7 minutes when Lewis Francis on the right found Danny Norton to stab home. The home side fought back quickly and were level 2 minutes later when Michael Toner struck the bar from distance and Kris Newby was on hand to smash home. After a lull in the game Aveley scored the winner just past the half hour when a mix up in Tilbury's defence saw Jeremiah Maja take advantage and slot in to an empty net.

Aveley had 3 good efforts to increase the lead, with Dan Odama denied by a fine Louis Hawes save.

Tilbury started the second half well and Reece Hewitt lobbed over missing a golden chance on 47. 8 minutes later striker Kurt Smith then saw the post rattled as the visitors pushed for an equaliser, but Aveley held out to take the points and still have the slim chance of play offs.

After the game manager Gary Henty commented "An improvement on recent weeks, and we were unlucky to not get anything out of the game"

Tilbury sit in 12th place in the league.
