Tilbury 1 Thamesmead Town 5 (Att 78)

Inform Thamesmead Town produced an excellent second half performance to romp past Tilbury.

Tilbury had the first effort of the game on 4 minutes when Jack Barham shot at Welham. It was the visitors who took a fortunate lead on 5 minutes when Billy Willis scored in his own net from a cross from the right from Bode. Tilbury did dominate proceedings up until half time with both Jack Barham and Kurt Smith who struck the post, going close.

The lead was doubled for Thamesmead on 50 when Bode rammed home an Alex Teniola cross and within 3 minutes put the game out of sight for the hosts as Teniola turned scorer when he tapped home into an empty Tilbury net, after a good break. Both sides were having chances with Kurt Smith for Tilbury and Teniola for Thamesmead.

The home side pulled back a consolation goal from the spot on 68 when Barham was impeded in the box, initially the referee waved away the appeals, but the assistant overalled the referee and the referee then changed his mind, leaving Tony Martin, to fire home from the resulting penalty. Thamesmead continued to press and Lewis Knight unleashed a fantastic volley past Lee Butcher 10 minutes from time. Defender Simon Peddie went close with an effort before Bode scored in the final minute to cap off a great afternoon for the visitors.

The result leaves Tilbury in 10th place. They are back in action on Monday afternoon, when they welcome Great Wakering Rovers. 3pm kick off.

Tilbury: Butcher, Mead, Willis (Hewitt 60), D Smith, Peddie, Singh, Aromolaran (Aiken 59), Carlile, Barham, Martin and K Smith (Richmond 84).

Unused subs: Nightingill and Jaggs
