Phoenix Sports 2 Tilbury 2 (Att 52)

Tilbury dropped a place in the league after battling back to share the points with Phoenix Sports.

On a foggy afternoon, the home side started strongly and should have scored inside 26 seconds when Victor Zapata blazed over from 8 yards. On 5 minutes Lee Butcher saved well from Pattisson. With the home side taking the game to Tilbury, they did eventually take the lead, with some fortune. A high swirling cross from the left was initially taken by Butcher who then dropped the ball to the feet of Zapata who tapped home. Tilbury slowly came into the game with Tony Martin seeing his header saved and again seconds later with a shot that went wide after some good build up play. Fairweather-Johnson saw a good through ball well defended by keeper Butcher before a good save from Phoenix keeper Phillips from a Neil Richmond header.

Tilbury got back on level terms on 61 when a Lewis Francis free-kick was sent into the box, only to come off defender Ashley Proberts and trickle into the net for an unfortunate own goal. With the fog coming own thicker, Tilbury took the lead on 76 when a Reece Hewitt shot was well blocked before the ball falling to Conor Mead who hit is low left foot effort home through a crowd of bodies. It looked like Tilbury were going to hold onto victory until a cross in the last 5 minutes that found substitute Dajon Golding who headed home.

The home side looked the likely winners as the they pressed for a winner, but the sides had to settle for a point a piece.

The result leaves Tilbury in 6th place. They are back in action on Boxing Day when they travel to VCD 3pm kick off.

After the game Gary Henty commented "We battled back well after falling behind, but disappointed that we could not hold onto the lead.
