Tilbury 1 Bowers & Pitsea 1 (Att 91)
Tilbury and Bowers shared the points in a uninspiring encounter at Chadfields
The Dockers went in front on 4 minutes when Toch Singh was brought down in the box and Kurt Smith made no mistake from the spot. Conor Mead then went close with a cross that struck the bar on 7, as Tilbury dominated. Bowers equalised on 10 minutes when a high ball was crossed in to the Tilbury box and Lee Butcher came and dropped the ball at the feet of Martyn Stokes who tapped home in to an empty net. Both sides had chances during the remainder of the half. On 19 aKurt Smith corner was headed wide by Neil Richmond and a minute later Bowers almost scored when Butchers clearance hit Bradley Warner on the back and deflected just wide. The dangerous Martyn Stokes was a threat from set pieces and headed over twice in as many minutes late in the first half. Tilbury's best chance before the break, fell to Dwade James who was played in one on one with the keeper, but his shot was weak and away to safety.
Tilbury started the second half well with a succession of corners. Warner rounded Butcher on 56 but hit wide and Tilbury's best chance of the second half fell to midfielder Lewis Jaggs whose long range effort from 30 yards was brilliantly tipped over by Bobby Mason. In a quiet end to the game, Stokes again went close with a header.
The result leaves both sides just outside the play off positions.
The result sees Tilbury drop to 9th, but still just outside the play off places. Tilbury are again in home action on Tuesday, when they welcome Ware.
After the game Assistant Manager Danny Smithcommented "It was a good reaction after Tuesday's disappointing defeat. I felt we dominated the game, but unhappy to drop 2 points"
