Tilbury 3 Maldon & Tiptree 2 (Att 65)

Tilbury produced a great comeback to win the game after being 2 behind inside 9 minutes. Manager Gary Henty made a single change to his line up, with Neil Richmond replacing Wale Odedoyin in attack.

On another pleasant afternoon, Maldon started the game quickly and went in front on 8 minutes when Sam Newson looked up and lobbed home over Butcher, after a mistake in the Dockers midfield for a fine individual effort. Within one minute, Maldon were awarded a penalty when Liam Nash was brought down by Neil Richmond and the same player stepped up to score into the corner. Maldon were in determined mood and Adam Mills headed wide on 15, before Liam Nash crossed into the box and hit the upright 3 minutes later. Tilbury had no answer to the constant attacks.

Tilbury did grow into the game and got themselves back in the match on the half hour, when Richmond crossed into the box and Tony Martin hit home at the second attempt, after Daniel Wilks parried. The same paring linked up again on 39. with Martin's effort going towards goal, was blocked for a corner. Just before the break Tilbury levelled up when Tony Martin's looping left wing cross was not dealt with and Toby Aromolaran rose to head into the net. Both sides had chances early in the second half, Richmond and Singh for the home side and Essuman and Mills for the visitors. With the introduction of Kurt Smith saw Tilbury keep the ball well and with Tilbury taking the game to Maldon, it was no surprise that Tilbury confirmed the points with 9 minutes remaining. A Kurt Smith's corner was headed by Eli Beniot towards goal and Emiel Aiken was on hand to tap home to see Tilbury come from behind to deservedly win. The last action of the game saw Tyler Brampton have his rasping effort well saved by Lee Butcher.

The result sees Tilbury move up to 9th, just outside the play off places. Tilbury welcome Waltham Abbey on Tuesday night.

Tilbury: Butcher, C Mead, Conway, Peddie, Benoit, Singh, Aromolaran (K Smith 69), Carlile, Richmond, Martin (James 79), Aiken.
