Tilbury 0 AFC Hornchurch 1 (Att 102)
AFC Hornchurch stole the points with a goal midway through the second half in a drab encounter at Chadfields.
Tilbury went into the game with an unchanged line up, with key players still missing due to injury.
In the opening period, the ball spent most of the time in the air with little creativity.
Tilbury's only attack in the whole game saw Ross Elsom's freekick headed over by Hornchurch defender Cooper. 2 minutes later it was Hornchurch's chance when St Aimie flicked a long ball out of defence on to George Purcell who try to lob the ball over Bogard's head from 40 yards, but went wide of the post.
Chances in the second half were also at a premium with Pursell crossing, but no one was on the end of a good cross. Hornchurch made a double substitution which paid off as within 2 minutes Ricky Freeman stabbed home at the back post as Tilbury did not clear the ball. In stoppage time Tilbury twice broke through, but Jed Chouman and then Nathan Cooper were quick to spot the danger and played the ball firmly back up-field to deny the Dockers.
After the game, Assistant Manager Danny Smith commented "We defended well throughout the game, but switched off for 20 seconds and it proved costly. Spirit in the changing room is good and we are working hard to change the results after a run of 4 defeats after such a great run. The club have confidence the lads can do this"
The result leaves Tilbury in 8th place. The Dockers return to action on Tuesday night, when they travel to Norfolk to play Wroxham.
Tilbury: Bogard, Webb (Pooley 81), J Cook, D Smith, Nightingill, Game, Elsom (C Mead 67), Carlile, Richmond, Cundle, K Smith.
Unused subs: Jaggs and Hanlon.
