Tilbury made it 3 successive wins, with a workman like 2-0 victory over an improved Haringey Borough side. With Tilbury missing suspended Jack Carlile and Kurt Smith, Tilbury made 2 changes with Tony Martin and Dave Collins returning to the side and both were involved in the opening goal on 12 minutes when a Collins corner found the head of Martin to hit home. In a first half that lacked clear goalmouth action, it took until 38 minutes when Collins left footed free kick went just over after Francis Babalola was brought down very close to the penalty box. With the Dockers fans in full voice, it was Haringey who started the second period stronger, Danny Ailey should have scored on 50 when he missed a sitter from 5 yards. A good break seconds later from Emiel Aiken, found Tony Martin who went close and a few minutes later Dave Collins hit from distance with keeper Ashley Harris saving well.Tilbury confirmed the points on 64 when a long clearance from Danny Glozier was picked up by Harry Cook who ran through to hit to the keepers right. This was Cook's last action as he was stretchered off due to an ankle injury. A late effort by Babalola saw Harris beat the ball away. The result sees Tilbury move up to 10th. After the game manager Gary Henty commented "I am pleased with the win and another clean sheet. Both Jake Pooley and Joe Nightingill defended well. I want to see the boys keep up the same work rate and take it in to Tuesday's game"On Tuesday, Tilbury travel to Oakside to play Redbridge for the return fixture from 2 weeks ago when Tilbury run out 4-1 victors.Team Bogard, C Mead, Glozier, Pooley, Nightingill, Game, Babalola, Colins (D Smith 84) H Cook (Richmond 64), Martin, AikenUnused Subs: Webb, Austin and Edmunds
