Bury Town 2 Tilbury 0 (Att 255)

A below par Tilbury side suffered a 2-0 defeat to inform Bury Town with Ollie Hughes helping himself to a brace, either side of half time. The game was played in front of a good crowd of 255.

Tilbury started well and caused the home side some problems, but will be disappointed with the lack of shots on tackle over the 90 minutes. Jack Carlile flashed a shot across the Bury goal early on and then home striker Ollie Hughes had a great chance to open the scoring for Bury on 14 minutes after working the ball in to the box, his shot was met by a great one handed save by debutant Hamilton.

After Bury came into the game midway through the half, they took the lead on 36 when Hughes fired a low shot home. Bury continued to dominate the half. On 55 a Bradley Barber corner set up Sam Reed who saw his shot cleared off the line. Hamilton then saved a Barber free kick on 60 minute. Bury scored again on 73 when Barber swung a perfect cross back in for Hughes to head home. The result gives Bury an defeated start to the season.

The result sees Tilbury drop to 14th.

On Tuesday, the Dockers entertain Thurrock 7.45pm kick off.

After the game manager Gary Henty commented. "I was pleased with our start, but we lost our way. We will look to get it right on Tuesday evening"
