Basildon United 2 Tilbury 2

Tilbury shared four goals with Essex Senior league side Basildon on Tuesday night as the Dockers let a two goal lead slip. With Tilbury sending a large squad to Basildon giving every player in the squad 45 minutes each.

The early action saw home defender Paul Shave almost head into his own net, but was denied by the crossbar, before Tony Martin hitting the rebound over. Tilbury took the lead on 38 minutes when Emiel Aiken was brought down in the box and Tony Martin stepped up to score. Tilbury made eleven changes at the break and flew out the blocks in the second and went further ahead with 6 seconds of the resumption when Harry Cook fired home. Basildon pulled a goal back on 50 when Toran Senghore hit home. With 15 minutes to go Basildon levelled when they beat the offside trap and Billy Field smashed home.

After the game Manager Gary Henty commented "It was a good workout for the lads. All the players got 45 minutes in the bank. We move on to Barking on Saturday in good spirit.
