Tilbury and high flying AFC Sudbury shared the spoils in a highly entertaining encounter on a chilly afternoon at Chadfields. Both sides were missing players, with Tilbury without Jimmy Cook, Rimmel Daniel and Harry Cook. After a 4-0 defeat earlier in the season, the game showed where Tilbury had moved on to and got out of the blocks well. On 7 Emiel Aiken effort from a Wood breakaway was well saved by Garnham. Seconds later the dangerous Aiken crossed for Flack whose header went just wide. On 18 Tom Wood chipped over the top before the visitors got into the game with some good moves. Just before the half hour a free kick from the edge of the area found Rymer who saw his effort saved by Giddens. Sudbury took the lead on 31 when a long ball through, saw a mistake in the home defence and Terry Rymer ran through and latched on to the ball and volleyed home. From the resulting attack, another mistake almost again let in Rymer, but was well denied by Giddens. The goal did not deter Tilbury and Neil Richmond hit over before the Dockers got a well-deserved equaliser. On 41 Aiken was brought down outside of the area and Flack's free kick was headed back into the box to leave Tom Wood a free header in the six yard box to head home.

On half time a cross from Blackwell almost went over everyone into the net.
After the break, both sides continued to serve up a good entertaining game. On the hour Rymer's effort was cleared off the line by Nightingill before the visitors had a good shout for a penalty for pushing in the box. Tilbury pressed hard and Aiken went in to the box and was brought down by the keeper Garnham, but he redeemed himself with a fine save from Jack Carlile as he got to his right and palmed onto the bar and away to safety. In the final few minutes substitute Francis Babalola had two good efforts for the Dockers, but the whistle went to see both form sides continue their good form.

The result sees Tilbury remain in 12th place.

After the game Tilbury Manager Gary Henty commented "I was delighted with the performance against a good strong side and it was a game we could have taken all the points. The side are in good heart and look to stop Needham Market on Tuesday night"

Tilbury are back in action on Tuesday when they welcome Needham Market to Chadfields 7.45pm kick off.
