Tilbury 2 Burnham Ramblers 0 (Att 56)

Tilbury won the relegation battle with two second half strikes against a battling Burnham Ramblers side. After last week's under performance at Brightlingsea Regent, manager Gary Henty made 3 chances with Bradley Webb, Harry Cook and a debut for Tommy Cooney at the expense of Emiel Aiken, Ruben Duarte and Elliott Johnson. Tilbury had the first effort of a good first half when Jimmy Cook went close from a Cooney ball. Burnham came in to the game and had numerous chances to take the lead. On 8 Akpele beat the offside trap rounded Johnson only to see his effort cleared off the line by Joe Nightingill. Liam Burgess had the next effort on 13 when he shot from distance just wide. Midway through the half the dangerous Dave Collins saw his free kick go wide, before Gorbell's header from the resulting corner, cleared off the line again, this time by Bradley Webb. On the half hour Collins saw another effort go over the bar. New signing for the visitors Ryan Imbert was a whisker away when he swung in the box and his effort just shaved the post and away to safety.
Just before the break Jack West was put through one on one, only to see Belcher smother well.
Tilbury were a different side after the break and took the lead on 52 when a right footed cross from Ryan Flack was met by Harry Cook. Confidence saw the Dockers gain confidence and went further in front on 70 when Belcher in the visitors goal misplaced his throw out and the ball fell to the feet of Harry Cook, who from 25 yards lobbed the keeper into an empty net. In the final 10 minutes Tilbury saw the game out, with impressive substitute Charlie Glesinger having 2 great chances and Ryan Flack hitting wide with the goal at his mercy. The final 2 minutes was littered with unnecessary fouls, but the result sees Burnham in further trouble and Tilbury moving up 3 places.

After the game Manager Gary Henty said "I am pleased to return to winning ways after last week's performance. We need to be consistent in our performances"

The result leaves Tilbury sitting in 18th place.

Tilbury are back in action on Tuesday when they welcome Braintree Town in the long awaited Essex Senior Cup Tie. Next Saturday, the Dockers travel to Heybridge Swifts.
