Tilbury suffered there 3rd consecutive home league defeat in a drab encounter at a windy and cold Chadfields. Tilbury gave a debut to ex Stoke City and former Republic of Ireland under 19 Ben Glasgow in midfield. Maldon started the stronger of the sides with Johnson going close from a corner inside 4 minutes. The deadlock was broken on 11 minutes when a long ball forward found Leon McKenzie on his own and he latched on to fire past Marrable. Tilbury;s first serious chance fell on 31 when a mazy run from Blackman saw him fouled just on the edge of the area and Waters free kick was dealt with. On 39 Tilbury were denied a clear penalty when when the visiting defender almost caught the ball. With Maldon in control, Tilbury's best effort fell to Ben Glasgow who stabbed over on 57. On 73 Tilbury did improve and an in-swinging corner from Blackman saw the head of Babalola, which saw his effort saved just under the bar.
There was one sparky moment with 13 minutes remaining when visiting defender had Jack West round the throat, which only saw the referee brandish just a yellow card. Maldon defended well and saw a well deserved 3 points.

Tilbury finish there recent run of home games on Tuesday night when they entertain Dereham in a rearranged game. The result leaves the Dockers in 17th place.
