Tilbury 2 Redbridge 0 (Attendance 52)

Tilbury put Saturday's disappointing defeat at the hands of Waltham Abbey behind them with a good 2-0 victory over mid table Redbridge on Thursday night. Redbridge had the unusual statistic on the night with only one of there starting line up that had never represented Tilbury. This in addition to two of named substitutes who also made there presence on the pitch. On a crisp and foggy evening both sides had numerous chances in the first half to take the lead. On 5 minutes Babalola payed in Jack West who volleyed over, Minutes later Christou was just wide from 20 yards before Aiken fired over for Redbridge. The visitors had two good chances midway through the half, both falling to Jack Carlile including a curling free kick that was well tipped over by Marrable. Just before the half hour Eljay Worrell fired from over 35 yards that was blocked. Redbridge captain Danny Smith headed over on 31 before the best chance of the half falling to Aiken who struck the underside of the bar and away to safety. Tilbury broke the deadlock on 38 when Wixon played in Jack West who slotted home under the diving Driscoll. It was a scrappy end to the half before Tilbury took control of the game in the second half. 9 minutes in to the half Babalola found Jack West again who fired home nicely to increase the lead. Redbridge did not give up and again Redbridge captain Smith hit wide with the goal at his mercy. Late in the game the match was littered with fouls before Tilbury made some chances and one of the substitutes Aldwinchkle had two great chances to increase the lead, both were denied by Driscoll.

The result sees Tilbury move up 3 places to 14th. With games coming thick and fast Tilbury travel to a resurgent Ware side on Saturday before welcoming Chatham on Tuesday for the start of 4 home games in a week.

I could not make last night, but by all accounts the team played well, with Jack scoring both of the "DOCKERS" goals. 10 out of the Redbridge starting 11 have at some time or other worn the Tilbury shirt, Ben Bradbury and Harry Cook amongst there subs ?? Next up, away to Ware on Saturday should be a rare 3 points away from home for the "DOCKERS" Match report to follow.  cheers
